Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Social Studies teacher to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of social studies content, excellent classroom management skills, and a commitment to student success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters critical thinking and inquiry.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to support their learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective instructional practices.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends.
  • Contribute to the overall school culture by participating in extracurricular activities and school events.

Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
  • Florida Teaching Certification in Social Studies
  • Strong knowledge of social studies content, including history, government, economics, and geography
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching in a middle or high school setting
  • Familiarity with technology tools and resources for teaching and learning
  • Experience with differentiated instruction and inclusive classroom practices
